JOB DESCRIPTION

 JOB TITLE:                                     Chief Finance Officer

SALARY BAND:                             SG 11   

RESPONSIBLE TO:                      CEO/ SIF Board of Trustees

LOCATION:                                     Head Office

HOURS OF WORK:                       40 hours per week (expected to work overtime)

CONTEXT AND BACKGROUND

The Chief Finance Officer (CFO) is responsible for all operations of the accounts function and ensuring that incomes and expenditures are recorded with accuracy as per laid down procedures; maintaining of financial control; providing financial reports to management and the SIF Board of Trustees as and when required.

The CFO’s work is performed by applying knowledge of accounting terminology and using spreadsheets and/or automated accounting systems.

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for the planning, directing and coordinating the financial accounting functions and formulating financial policies.
  • Assesses the financial situation and advise the Senior Management and SIF Board of trustees on the SIF’s financial performance.
  • Controls the expenditure and take measures to ensure efficient use of funds.
  • Prepares budget and management reports and oversees the various accounting operations of the SIF.
  • Authorizes online banking.
  • Review and assist with the implementation of internal control for SIF function and system across all SIF sites.
  • Follow the IFRS/IAS standards in finance operation of SIF.
  • Develop accounting policies and procedures for all the finance related operation of SIF.
  • Undertake preparation of the annual budgets and monitoring of its implementation and providing termly reports on budget performance Advise management on financial matters and answer relevant queries
  • Liase with the external auditors for completion of the Annual Audits.
  • Review finance related documents such as agreements, contracts, banking documents etc…
  • Review function carried out by the Finance team (payroll, payments, revenue collection & posting banking & bank reconciliation, inventory management and fixed asset management
  • Liaise with external parties in regards to finance operations of SIF.
  • Identify investment opportunities for SIF and ensure investing any additional funds as requires.
  • Assists with other financial duties as may be assigned by the CEO and Board of Trustees.

 

 

QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE

ACCA/CIMA/CA/CPA Professional Level Member/Affiliate equivalent to a Master’s Degree in Finance plus five years of satisfactory work experience as a Financial Controller or similar position.

F1 to F9 plus Professional Ethics Module equivalent to Degree in Accounting plus eight to ten years satisfactory work experience as a Financial Controller or similar position
