Hours of work: 60 hrs per week (shift basis) and upon request of overtime
Job Summary
As a Senior Security Officer at Vallee de Mai, you will need to uundertake responsibility for surveillance of the premises and protecting the staff and visitors. The job entails maintaining good working conditions to keep the facility safe, secure, and free from thefts, vandalism, and criminal behaviours.
The job entails patrolling the premises regularly; monitoring and authorizing entrance of vehicles, and people; removing wrongdoers and trespassers; securing all doors, windows, and exits after closing of office hours; checking surveillance cameras to identify disruptions; investigating people for suspicious activity; apprehending and detaining perpetrators, and submitting reports of daily surveillance, poachers etc…
DUTIES
- Developing and implementing security policies, protocols and procedures
- Supervises and organizes the work schedule for Security Officers
- Plan and coordinate security operations for specific events
- Set up and implement regular fitness programme for Security Officers
- Coordinate staff when responding to emergencies and alarms
- Carry out checks on the Security Officers to ensure their presence and alertness on duty
- Review reports on incidents and breaches reported by Security Officers and act upon as per protocol and
- Ensure that all books/records kept by the Security Officers are correctly completed and that all regulations are followed
- Ensure that the Security Officers enforce full adherence to all park regulations and S.I.F. policies by all including visitors and staff
- Lead any investigations in collaborations with Security Officer and compile report for submission to Head Office
- Ensure the safety of all visitors and staff
- Assist the Site Manager with day to day management and supervision of the park
- Assist with prevention of fires and fire fighting
- Compile and submit monthly, quarterly and annual reports
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
Graduate from any Post-Secondary education and at least 3 to 4 years experience as a Security Officer or equivalent relevant position plus supervisory skills
Training in security is an advantage
SKILLS AND ATTRIBUTES
- Demonstrate excellent surveillance and emergency response skills.
- Must possess strong communication skills
- Must be committed to security rules and knowledge of all hazards and threats to safety.
- Demonstrate a strong leadership skills
- Must be fluent in English and French. Other languages are of an advantage
- Must possess knowledge of legal guidelines
- Good at report writing
- Must possess excellent surveillance and observation skills
- Since you will have a number of people under your responsibility, you must also exhibit leadership skills.
