The Sales and Marketing Officer will work with SIF suppliers and liaises with the Vallee de Mai sales team for pricing and products. The work also entails going to Vallée de Mai on Praslin as and when required.

Job Responsibilities:

Sales

  • Reconcile and prepare supplier’s payment file (Monthly & bi-weekly)
  • Communicate with suppliers for monthly payments and ensure that all suppliers receive monthly sales and stock report
  • Conduct monthly reconciliation of suppliers' accounts (stock, payments/ invoice) and provide suppliers with a monthly closing balance
  • Verify and compile suppliers’ invoices and purchase invoices for payment
  • Record invoices and keep an updated invoice register
  • Conduct daily stock adjustments of expired perishable items for Vallée de Mai café
  • Assist or conduct monthly inventory for the Souvenir shop
  • Reconcile stock movement of SIF merchandise (inhouse sales)
  • Reconcile stock movement of SIF merchandise being sold in external outlets
  • Reconcile third-party stock movement (twice a year)
  • Prepare payment calculation for monthly sales staff commission
  • Conduct stock adjustment for souvenir shop (missing, damaged, stock error etc.)
  • Build and maintain good relationships with new and existing supplier
  • Organise meetings with suppliers as necessary and respond to suppliers’ query
  • Research and outsource new products and potential supplier
  • Maintain an updated file and database of suppliers' information and transaction
  • Monitor stock levels and place orders as needed
  • Track orders and ensure timely delivery
  • Verify new stock upon delivery and inspect products quality
  • Liaise with supervisors or sales clerks on duty for any queries regarding pricing /products.
  • Issue supplier’s agreement to new suppliers and follow up on renewal of supplier’s agreement.
  • Conduct analysis of sales performance
  • Liaise with OPO for weekly cargo and assist with packing of supplier’s product.

Marketing

  • Assist with daily administrative tasks to ensure the functionality and coordination of marketing and sales activities
  • Analyses trends and data that can potentially improve marketing and sales performance
  • Help conduct and collate findings from market research
  • Assist in the development and distribution of marketing and promotional material
  • Data entry and analysis
  • Respond to marketing queries via phone or email.

Assist with any other duties assigned by the supervisor.

Professional experience:

  • 3 years of experience in sales and marketing

Qualification:

  • Diploma in Accounting, Sales, Admin or relevant field is an advantage
  • Certificate in Marketing

Languages:

  • Fluency in English, French and Creole
